Standby for the return of the...
The Liberators are a Sydney-based band influenced by the greats and grooves of 1970s Nigeria, American Soul and Latin Dance grooves. Made up of musicians, vocalists, and dancers hailing from Dojo Cuts, The Strides and Doctor Wasabi, this 13 piece Afro-funk powerhouse absolutely rocked the house in their debut gig with us and we had to ask them back for a return visit!

Set to release their debut single on US Colemine Records the band will be completing their first long player for Record Kicks for release later this year. Featuring Amayo, vocalist of acclaimed NY outfit Antibalas with remixes from the likes of Lack of Afro.

Standby for an authentic and energetic set of deep grooves and vicious rhythms generating a buzz about to explode all over Australia.
samba frog
Samba Frog are an excellent 25 piece Samba/Batucada collective who have featured at our previous “Brazilian Funk Affairs” sessions and blown the roof off each time.
Led by Jean Luc Stora this is a heavy drum experience not to be missed at any cost!
DJ Russ Dewbury
Fresh from playing to over 100,000 people at Festival First Night with Al Green, Russ provides the Jazz Rooms unique soundtrack connecting cutting edge dance vibrations from all strands of black music past present and future. With a firm emphasis on dance floor energy, expect full on club sessions with special guests through the evening and after the band until late!
