The Liberators are a Sydney-based band influenced by the greats and grooves of 1970s Nigeria, American Soul and Latin Dance grooves. Made up of musicians hailing from Dojo Cuts, The Strides and Doctor Wasabi, this 13 piece Afro-funk powerhouse has put together an authentic and energetic set of deep grooves and vicious rhythms about to explode all over Australia.
Michelle Martinez and Roxie Ray are 2 of Australia’s finest Soul sisters now taking their undisputed talents onto the global stage.

At only 25 years of age Soul diva Michelle Martinez is already one of Sydney’s busiest vocalists and her recorded and live performances exude a maturity way beyond her age. After a series of high profile collaborations Michelle has come to the attention of the worldwide audience and this appearance follows her debut tour of the UK.
Roxie Ray has come a long way in a short time. The sassy Sydney native has emerged as one of the soul revival’s brightest stars. In a short space of time, she has appeared on several international record releases incl Lack of Afro, Milano Jazz Dance Combo and others and has performed continuously. Drawing from her passion for the sounds and feeling of the jazz divas of the last 50 years Roxie’s voice and presence is unique, striking and emotive.

It’s a full-on, straight-up, knock-out soul-sister seduction!
DJ Russ Dewbury provides the Jazz Rooms unique soundtrack connecting cutting edge dance vibrations from all strands of black music past present and future. With a firm emphasis on dance floor energy, expect full on club sessions through the evening and after the band until late!

Guest djs include long time Sydney beat master Toon now host of the acclaimed “Vinyl Frontier” Radio show on Eastside Radio and live percussion comes courtesy of African born congalero Dia Ibrahim who blew the roof off at our Xmas party last year.
